For me, one person has been my mom and up to this day she still inspires me. Some may say well that is a given, but in reality that isn’t a given for everyone. I have grown up around people whose parents sadly aren’t involved or around. My mom has been there through all my ups and downs, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful. She has always been the constant in my life. Before accepting Christ in my life she was the person I knew loved me, always and forever. She is the true definition of a momma bear and has always encouraged and supported me. Throughout all the hardships my mom helped me deal with everything I faced. I am so appreciative of her, the relationship we have, and the great mom she has been.
She has been a great example for me of what a mother should be. To serve their children whole heartedly, to love without limits, to protect them, encourage them, support them in every way, serve them with your all, and be a great example. I would say my mom has a lot to do with the way I parent. Of course I have made some adjustments to fit me as a parent but she surely has given me a great outline. So you may be saying what does this have to do with spiritual inspiration? Well it has a lot to do with it. I thank God for blessing me with the mother he has given me. You see I didn’t grow up having a relationship with God but I believe God gave me a great example of someone who mirrors His love. When I accepted Christ in my life things were confusing. I had lots of questions and wanted to relate things to the things I already knew. I am not saying my mom is perfect like Christ but what I am saying is I believe I was blessed with my mom and her being a great parent has help me understand some of the questions I needed answered. In a previous blog I wrote about a parents love being like that of Christ and because of my mom I know this. I understand Christ loves me unconditionally and I know that no love can amount to His but I also do thank Him for the love of my mom. I know it can be hard to find the answers you are looking for and at times you don’t even know the questions you want answered. But know as you seek God and dive into His word He will give you answers. In understanding these answers you sometimes can relate it to other things that you already know. As for me, knowing what Gods perfect love is I can relate it to how my mother has loved me. Knowing Gods and my mothers love inspires me to be a better person. Who or what is it that inspires you?
