Let’s just start off with honesty, sometimes life can get tough. Tough to the point where you consider giving up. Maybe it has been one thing after another and you can’t see how things can even get better. Whatever you do don’t entertain the thought of giving up. When you entertain it is when you are more likely to act on it.

This past weekend I had the privilege to volunteer at an event for DeSoto’s DVAC(Domestic Violence Advisory Commission). Let me first start off by saying I am not an expert but I think it is very important that I share what I learned from this event. Being a mom I often battle with the idea I shouldn’t have “me" time. Having a full time job I would rather maximize my time with my son rather than spending time on myself. I love spending time with him and at times we are normally on the go so I try to take advantage of every second I have with him when so many others aren’t around. There is just something about that quality time that I just love. What I have realized is quality time for yourself is also very important. It may just be 10 minutes but that may just be what you need. Below I’ve listed 5 simple things you can do during “me” time.
