In the previous blog I wrote about five characteristics of Christ so I thought to write on actions we can take to help incorporate these characteristics in our lives. I searched a few definitions of characteristic and according to businessdictionary.com a characteristic is defined as “A distinguishing feature or attribute of an item, person, phenomenon, etc., usually divided into three categories: (1) physical, (2) functional, and (3) operational.” With this said, I would add a characteristics is not something someone only speaks of having. I would say to incorporate the five characteristics of Jesus I previously wrote about in our lives it cannot just be something we speak about having but must be shown in our daily lives and in our actions. If you truly have a characteristic it isn’t something you have to announce rather it is something someone can tell you have just by the way you carry yourself. So let’s start off with three very important things we should do to incorporate these characteristics of Jesus Christ in our lives.
In part two I will go more in-depth on these. But think about these three actions. Have you taken them? Do you daily seek Christ? I challenge both you and I to meditate and pray on these points and be true to oneself on things one may need to do or improve on. In part two I will elaborate on why I think these are important.
Prayer: Father God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I thank you for my life and each and every persons life reading this. I ask Father that you speak to each of us and show us which areas on this list we need to improve on or incorporate in our lives. I ask that each person reading this truly seek a relationship with you and that I myself seek you more and more each and everyday that you bless us with life. I pray as we seek you that you shape us to be more like your Son in our actions. That we will not have to speak of characteristics we have and instead people know by our daily actions. Father God, I ask that you teach us to love as Christ loves. I thank you for all that you have done, all that you are doing, and all that you will do in each and every one of our lives. In Jesus’ name I pray AMEN!
