When I was a teenager I found myself stressed and because I didn’t know how to deal with it I fell into a deep depression. I remember how bad it was where at times I would just want to be in bed and not be around anyone. So imagine being in high school, one of largest high schools in Dallas at that and having to be around so many people. Can you imagine how much anxiety that could bring when stressed? Being that I have overcome depression I have been able to recognize when I am beginning to stress and being that I have been depressed it is very important for me to address it before it leads me down that path again. I have found ways to deal with it over the years and I am here to share with you what I do when I find myself stressing out.
For me distressing is a process I take time in doing. I think it is very important to take care of yourself not just physically but mentally and emotionally. Prayer, unplugging/relaxing, and doing something I really enjoy are some of the things that help me destress. I am by no means a professional, this is just what I do to help myself destress.
