In Dallas rolled ice cream is still fairly new. There are very few spots and I have been to two in the Dallas area. I decided to do a review for anyone who may want to try out the rolled ice cream trend.
I CE NY Dallas Address: 2625 Old Denton Rd #812, Carrollton, TX 75007 Price: $7 Have their menu items to choose from and customizable flavors available. Add-ins are a small extra fee. My review: This place is delicious! Their ice cream is very creamy, their toppings and mixed in fruits as is are perfect. I personally tried the mangonada and strawberry cheesecake both menu items and both delicious. My son loved the strawberry cheesecake and let me say he can be picky when it comes to ice cream. There is a lot in the serving and I would say you could definitely share.
Chills 360
Address: 646 Elm St, Dallas, TX 75226; 118 E Rusk St, Rockwall, TX 75087 Price:$7 Menu items available no option for customized flavors but add-ins are free(unsure if there is a limit). My review: This place is good. The inside line setup could be arranged differently to flow better but in all fairness this is a small location to work with at the Elm Street location. There is a bit of a wait time because of the rolled ice cream craze just hitting Dallas. It is fun to watch as they write your name. I had pinky promise and added bananas.
I CE NY Dallas vs. Chills 360
To me the line for Chills 360 wasn’t worth it. I waited about an hour and a half and the line wasn’t as long as some of the lines I have seen online. I CE NY didn’t have a line but they also don’t write your name in the ice cream. Most people didn’t stand and watch as they created the ice cream but there was the option to. We opted to sit and they call your number when it is done. Both places mix in fruit in the ice cream but the fruit at Chills 360 was pretty frozen. I’m not sure why but my son didn’t care much for Chills 360. He just ate the cookies on top and fruit outside of the ice cream. A down side to Chills 360 was the sitting area was only outside so it did melt the ice cream. Both places are fairly good but for me it came down to the line. I would rather drive to Carrollton than wait in line to watch as they create my ice cream rolls. For me the flavor was better at I CE NY but this isn’t me saying I didn’t like Chills 360 just that I would choose I CE NY Dallas. Both places are fairly good so if I were you I would give rolled ice cream a try. Share with me if you do try them out and what flavors you try.
